Overview

If you're reading this right now, it's likely to mean that, like me, you're a sucker for chocolate orange flavoured things. I have a weird obsession with the flavour.... Which is why I spent way too much time trying to perfect this 'Choc Orange Bliss Ball' recipe.

These delightful little treats are super healthy and are great to have as a snack throughout the day. I've even found myself cutting them up and mixing them through my breakfast oats in the mornings.

If you've looked at the photo above, you may have noticed that there are 2 distinctly different looking types of bliss balls sitting on the plate... And that's because they're two different flavours. The darker balls that're covered in coconut are my 'Choc Orange Bliss Balls' that we're talking about now, whilst the lighter brown-coloured ones are my 'Peanut Butter Bliss Balls'. If you want to try out some different bliss ball flavours, then feel free to check these out later as well. They're also a super tasty option that're great for peanut butter lovers.

You will need a food processor for this recipe. If you don't have one, you could probably also use a blender.

How Can A Chocolate Snack Be Healthy?

As I already mentioned, these chocolate orange bliss balls pack a chocolaty taste, but are still quite healthy. This is because they get their chocolate flavour from cacao, which actually has a variety of health benefits; including having more calcium than cow milk. It's also packed with antioxidants, magnesium and iron, which can improve your blood pressure and heart health, whilst also helping with depression and stress.

Taste & Consistency

These little balls aren't as soft as some of my other bliss ball recipes (including my Gingerbread Bliss Balls), but have a relatively 'fudgy' consistency nonetheless. I'd say that their consistency is comparable to that of rum balls.

They come armed with a hefty choc-orange taste that'll knock your socks off and send you to Pluto and back.

If you prefer your bliss balls to be a little firmer, you can also store them in the freezer. They shouldn't completely freeze over and will be fine to pick out and eat straight away.
